The Bavarians have managed to bounce back from their recent draw with Arminia and a loss at Eintracht Frankfurt by destroying Lazio 4-1 in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 round before another 5-1 thrashing of FC Koln last week. With Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry up and running again, Hansi Flick's side lead the league standings by two points over RB Leipzig who sit in second and impressive 13 points over their forthcoming opponents.

Dortmund, for their part, have also enjoyed a great run of results lately as Edin Terzic's side will travel to Bavaria on the back of four consecutive victories in all competitions, including a narrow win at Borussia Monchengladbach in the German Cup quarter-final in mid-week. BVB's latest winning streak has helped them jump into fifth in the Bundesliga standings, just three points behind Eintracht.

Corentin Tolisso, Tanguy Nianzou, Alexander Nubel and Douglas Costa are all unavailable for the hosts through injuries while Borussia will be without Marcel Schmelzer, Manuel Akanji and Axel Witsel on Saturday.

Prediction

Bayern were victorious in their two previous head-to-head meetings with Dortmund, first in the German Super Cup in September (3-2) and later in the Bundelisga matchday 7 (3-2). Both sides have been in excellent form in the past few weeks and thus we do expect goals at both ends in Munich with the Bavarians as slight favourites to make it three out of three against BVB in the 2020/21 season.
