The Red Bulls made the headlines for the wrong reason last weekend as Julian Nagelsmann's side suffered a sensational 3-2 loss at the hands of second-bottom Mainz on Saturday. As Bayern Munich destoyed Schalke the next day, Leipzig are now second in the table, seven points adrift of the Bavarians. Hence, Nagelsmann's men will probably have to wait for another year to claim their first-ever Bundesliga title.

Bayer, for their part, will travel to Saxony on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Wolfsburg and thus will also be looking to come back to winning ways on Saturday. Peter Bosz's side have a perfect opportunity to leapfrog Leipzig into second on the weekend. Leverkusen could move level on points with their forthcoming opponents if they claim a victory at the Red Bull Arena.

Both sides' treatment rooms are quite overcrowded ahead of their head-to-head meeting as Kevin Kampl, Dominik Szoboszlai, Yussuf Poulsen, Benjamin Henrichs, Konrad Laimer and Ibrahima Konate are all unavailbale for the hosts while Lars Bender, Patrik Schick, Mitchell Weiser, Julian Baumgartlinger, Santiago Arias, Paulinho and Sven Bender won't feature for the visitors through respective injury woes.

Even though Leipzig and Bayer both have a number of injury absentees right now, the Red Bulls have more key players available for Saturday's clash. As Leverkusen haven't claimed a single victory against Nagelsmann's men in their previous five encounters, we'd say that the hosts are slight favourites to scoop all three points this time around.
