Gladbach also come to the encounter on the back of a 3-2 win over Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga over the weekend. What's more, Marco Rose's side started off their 2020/21 Champions League season in a battling 2-2 draw with Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza last week.

Andreas Poulsen, Denis Zakaria and Laszlo Benes won't help Borussia on Tuesday through injuries while Mamadou Doucoure is a doubt with a muscular problem.

Dani Carvajal, Martin Odegaard, Mariano Diaz and Alvaro Odriozola have all been left out of Madrid's travelling squad. Eden Hazard, in turn, has surprisingly been included in the squad and could make his injury return at Borussia-Park.

Gladbach have proven themselves a hard nut to crack this season as even Inter were lucky to scoop a last gasp draw against Rose's men in the competition's opener. Madrid, on the other hand, won't underestimate the Bundesliga side after what Shakhtar did to them last week. This encounter is likely to go down to the wire with Zidane's men as favourites to claim all three points due to their CL experience.
