Both teams come to their UCL tie on the back of disappointing domestic league results over the weekend. The Blues drew Southampton 3-3 on Saturday while Julen Lopetegui's men suffered a 1-0 defeat at Granada on the same day.

It would be fair to say that Chelsea and Sevilla are yet to find their best form this season so far, sitting in 7th and 10th in the Premier League and the La Liga respectively.

Edouard Mendy won't help Frank Lampard's side due to an injury while another Chelsea's new boy Hakim Ziyech is likely to feature at Stamford Bridge.

Sevilla's first-choice centre-back Jules Kounde is out of contention this time around after testing positive for Covid-19 lately.

Prediction

The Blues are placed as favourites to claim all three points against Lopetegui's side but the current Europa League winners should certainly not be underestimated. What's more Chelsea's defensive showings this term leave much to be desired.
