Champions League: Juventus vs Chelsea preview, team news, prediction and tips
September 28

Juventus will lock horns with Chelsea in the Champions League matchday 2 at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday. The kick-off is at 21:00 CEST.

Well, it hasn't been the best start to a season for Juventus this term as the Bianconeri couldn't find their first win in the Serie A in the opening four matches (2D, 2L). Max Allegri's crop, however, kicked off their CL Group H campaign quite successfully as they thrashed Malmo 3-0 in Sweden two weeks ago to find themselves at the top of the table ahead of Chelsea's visit to Turin. Juve have also managed to end their winless streak in the Italian top flight since then and will play hosts to the Blues on the back of consecutive 3-2 victories over Spezia and Sampdoria.

Thomas Tuchel's men, for their part, remained unbeaten in the opening seven games of the 2021/22 campaign across all competitions, including a 1-0 win against Zenit Saint Petersburg in their Group H opener. Chelsea, on the other hand, will travel to Italy after suffering their first loss of the season to Manchester City (1-0) on Saturday.

Team news

Juve's duo Alvaro Morata and Paolo Dybala were forced off in the most recent victory against Sampdoria and are set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Moreover, the Bianconeri will be without Arthur Melo on Wednesday as the Brazilian is yet to recover from a muscle injury. N'Golo Kante, for his part, is unavailable for the Blues after contracting Covid-19 recently while Reece James, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic won't feature in Turin through respective injury woes.

As mentioned, Juve have endured a rather disappointing start to the season following Allegri's return to the Allianz Stadium dugout in the summer, having kept just one clean sheet in seven matches this term so far. The absence of Dybala and Morata on Wednesday also doesn't improve the Bianconeri' chances against the current Champions League winners. Tuchel's side, in turn, will be eager to return to winning ways following their loss to City over the weekend and we do back them to do so against struggling Serie A champions.
