Lazio and Borussia Dortmund start their respective runs in the 2020/21 Champions League group stage on Tuesday. The kick-off is at 21:00 CET.

The Biancocelesti finished in 4th in the Serie A last term and thus returned to the UCL group stage for the first time since 2007/08 season. One of the reasons behind Lazio's success was Ciro Immobile who won the European Golden Boot with 36 leagues strikes in the 2019/20 campaign. Simone Inzaghi's side, however, haven't been that much convincing this term so far, claiming just four points after four Serie A games. Immobile, for his part, has found the back of the net only once this season and will be eager to improve his record against his former club.

Dortmund, in turn, have enjoyed a promising start to the Bundesliga season, having registered three victories and a defeat after four matches.

Lazio's Senad Lulic, Andreas Pereira, Silvio Proto and Stefan Radu are set to miss the encounter while Bastos and Manuel Lazzari remain major doubts through respective injuries. Marcel Schmelzer, Nico Schulz and Dan-Axel Zagadou are out of contention for BVB this time around with Thorgan Hazard and Lukasz Piszczek unlikely to feature due to fitness issues.

Prediction

Borussia have made it to the Champions League group stage for the fifth consecutive season, in contrast to Lazio's return to the competition for the first time in 13 years. With the likes of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and Marco Reus all fit and ready to go, BVB are clear favourites to beat out-of-form Lazio.
