Atletico Madrid will take on Real Sociedad in the La Liga matchday 10 at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday. The kick-off is at 21:00 CEST.

As Atletico's league clash with Granada last weekend was postponed due to late arrivals back from international duty, Diego Simeone's men have now dropped into fifth in the La Liga table with 17 points take from the opening eight matches. The last time the Rojiblancos participated in the Spanish top flight was on October 2 when they defeated Barcelona 2-0 thanks to goals from Thomas Lemar and Luis Suarez. Atleti, however, will play hosts to Sociedad on the back of a disappointing 3-2 loss at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Imanol Alguacil's side, meanwhile, are leading the La Liga table with 20 points ahead of their trip to the Spanish capital. On the other hand, Atletico have a game in hand over the Basques and could overtake them at the very top of the standings if they manage to take all three points on Sunday. Sociedad, however, have gone 11 games across all competitions since their opening day 4-2 loss to Barcelona, including the most recent 1-0 wins over Mallorca in La Liga last week and Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday.

Stefan Savic is the only confirmed ansentee in the hosts' squad while Marcos Llorente remains doubtful due to an injury. Diego Rico, Carlos Fernandez, Nacho Monreal and most importantly Mikel Oyarzabal, in turn, won't help Sociedad on the weekend through the same reason. Aihen Munoz, for his part, won't even travel to Madrid after being sent off against Mallorca.
Prediction
Well, Atletico will certainly be extra-motivated to return to winning ways in this one after their rather undeserved defeat to Liverpool in mid-week but it'll also be a very difficult task to complete given Sociedad's current unbeaten streak. What's more, the Basques have recorded seven clean sheets in their last 11 matches, so we don't realy expect a goal fest taking place at the Wanda Metropolitano this time around.
