Even though Barca haven't been at their best this season so far, the Catalans are unbeaten in nine league matches on the bounce ahead of Athletic's visit to Catalonia. What's more, Barcelona will welcome the Basques to Camp Nou on the back of three consecutive victories in all competitions. As things stand now, Ronald Koeman's men are third in the table, 10 points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid.

Athletic, meanwhile, have been absolutely phenomenal since Marcelino Garcia Toral's appointment in the San Mames dugout earlier this month. The Basques have won each of their five games since losing to Barca 3-2 in Marcelino's debut game in charge of the club in early January. The run includes an extra-time victory over Koeman's side in the Spanish Super Cup final. As for their league position, Athletic are nineth in the standings, 13 points behind the Blaugrana.

Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho and Gerard Pique all remain on the sidelines while Sergio Busquets is suspended for this one.

Mikel Balenziaga and  Peru Nolaskoain, in turn, are set to miss Athletic's trip to Catalonia.

Prediction

Marcelino's men have proven themselves capabale of beating Barca over the past few weeks, so we wouldn't name the Catalans as clear favourites to win their upcoming head-to-head meeting. What's certain is that Sunday's clash at Camp Nou is likely to be an entertaining one with Barca trying to gain revenge on Athletic for the SSC loss and the Basques aiming to extend their winning streak to six matches.
