Despite being considered as one the favourites to clinch the title in the early stages of the 2020/21 season, Marseille are now sixth in the league standings with 32 points. Andre Villas-Boas's men have been in an awful form since the turn of the year as they lost four and drew one of their last five matches across all competitions, including last weekend's 3-1 loss at AS Monaco.

Rennes' performances this term, meanwhile, have been hugely affected by the club's participation in the Champions League group stages. Julien Stephan's side, however, have managed to improve their results significantly since ending their European run in December. In fact, Rennes were on a seven-game unbeaten streak in the league before losing to Lille 1-0 last Sunday which means that they are now four points and one place ahead of OM.

While Marseille's latest signing Arkadiusz Milik is set for his debut start for OM, Boubacar Kamara is still unavailable for the hosts due to a muscle injury.

Serhou Guirassy and Mbaye Niang, in turn, are the only confirmed absentees in Stephan's squad.

Prediction

Milik will certainly add more strength to Marseille's attack but OM's leaky defense remains to be arguably the biggest problem for Villas-Boas to solve. Rennes defeated their forthcoming opponents 2-1 at home last month and thus Marseille will be hoping to get even with Stephan's men for that loss on Saturday. The upcoming encounter is an extremely difficult to call but it promises to be a quite entertaining one with goals scored from both ends at the Orange Velodrome.
