Now, the Red Devils will be looking for their third win in the English top flight under new interim manager Ralf Rangnick to continue their battle for the top-4 finish with the likes of Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham. As things stand now, United are sixth with 27 points, five points behind and with two games in hand over fourth-placed Gunners, at the time of writing.
Team news
While Federico Fernandez and Jamal Lewis are the only confirmed injury absentees in the hosts' squad, Isaac Hayden will play no part on Monday through a suspension. Paul Pogba, in turn, will not help his side in Tyneside as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury while Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani are yet to be given the green light to feature but are all expected to return to the squad this time around.
Prediction
As United are set to welcome a number of their key players back to the matchday set-up, it'll take miracle for Newcastle to stop the Red Devils from taking their third straight win in the Premier League on Boxing Day. Moreover, it would be a huge surprise if the Magpies manage to find the back of David de Gea's net this time around, given their recent attacking woes and United's 100% defensive record in the league under Rangnick.
