Probably no one expected to see the Rossonerri approaching the end of 2020 at the top of the league standings before the start of the 2020/21 campaign. Stefano Pioli's side, however, have proven their critics wrong as they are one point above second-placed Inter ahead of the matchday 14. Milan are yet to suffer a defeat in the Serie A this term and are set to be in high spirits when they host Lazio on Wednesday after the 2-1 victory at Sassuolo over the weekend.

Simone Inzaghi's men, for their part, have struggled with consistency this season and are heading into this encounter in eighth, 10 points adrift of the Rossonerri. Nevertheless, the Eagles managed to beat Napoli 2-0 on Sunday thanks to Ciro Immobile's goal plus assist. The Italian striker has been in an excellent form in the past few months as he's netted 12 goals in 13 outings across all competitions since the start of October.

While Joaquin Correa could join up Immobile upfront at the Giuseppe Meazza after recovering from an injury, Milan are set to be without their two key forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic as the pair remain on the sidelines. Franck Kessie, in turn, is suspended for this one.

Prediction

Milan have hardly noticed Ibrahimovic's injury absence as they remain unbeaten in the league even without their key striker. We'd say that Pioli's men will finish the year without a defeat in the 2020/21 Serie A season but Lazio certainly have every chance of earning at least one point at the Giuseppe Meazza.
